Iggy Azalea discusses her hectic, “insane” lifestyle

Iggy Azalea admits that her life is quite different than that of “regular” people. But the singer is used to the lifestyle and thinks everyone would judge her as “insane” if she lived in a more stable environment outside of the entertainment industry.

Iggy, who insists perception is heavily influenced by your environment, explained to Australia’s GQ magazine: “It’s weird to be normal now, right? There are varying degrees of normality depending on your level of insanity and environment. I’d be classified as normal for the environment I’m in but if you threw me into regular life, I may seem insane.”

She clarified her point by reminding everyone how she left her native Australia to pursue a music career in the United States at the age of 16. Now she’s grown fond of America and admits she doesn’t miss her home country, although many people feel offended by that reality.

“Of course I like Australia, but I don’t know why people get so offended as it’s not my home. I don’t miss Australia, not because there aren’t great things about it,” she explained.

Emigrating when you’re a kid is a defining moment of your life, where you’re about to become an adult. That shapes you, I doubt you really understand the feeling.”

Elaborating further, the star says she no longer feels a “home connection” to Australia, adding: “I mean, to be honest with you, my home is in America. I’ve lived there for a decade, that’s where I live. It’s great to come back and visit my grandparents, but there is no home connection. It would be like you going home to where you lived when you were nine, I kind of don’t associate with that anymore.”
